सुयोधनस्य भेत्स्यामि गदया सक्थिनी रणे | व्यर्थ तदद्य मे सर्व त्वयि वीर निपातिते

Transliteration

vaiśaṃpāyana uvāca |

suyodhanasya bhetsyāmi gadayā sakthinī raṇe |

vyarthaṃ tad adya me sarvaṃ tvayi vīra nipātite |

dharmaputro mahābāhur vilalāpa suvistaram ||

Translation

“ରଣରେ ମୋ ଗଦାଦ୍ୱାରା ମୁଁ ସୁୟୋଧନଙ୍କ ଦୁଇ ଜଂଘା ଭାଙ୍ଗିଦେବି”—ଏହା ମୋ ପ୍ରତିଜ୍ଞା ଥିଲା; କିନ୍ତୁ ହେ ବୀର, ଆଜି ତୁମେ ପତିତ ହେବାରୁ ସେ ସବୁ ସର୍ବଥା ବ୍ୟର୍ଥ ହେଲା। ଏହିପରି କହି ମହାବାହୁ ଧର୍ମପୁତ୍ର ଯୁଧିଷ୍ଠିର ଶୋକାକୁଳ ହୋଇ ଦୀର୍ଘ ସମୟ ବିଲାପ କଲେ—ଧର୍ମର ଆଶା ଭଙ୍ଗ ହେଲା ଓ ଅଧର୍ମ ଜିତିଲା ବୋଲି ମନେ କରି।
