प्रविशन्नेव स वनं निगृहीत: सकण्टकै: । स कण्टकैर्विभिन्नाड्को लोहिताद्रीकृतच्छवि:

Transliteration

praviśann eva sa vanaṁ nigṛhītaḥ sakaṇṭakaiḥ | sa kaṇṭakair vibhinnāṅgo lohitādrīkṛtacchaviḥ ||

Translation

ସେ ବନରେ ପ୍ରବେଶ କରିବାମାତ୍ରେ କଣ୍ଟକାକୀର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଝାଡ଼ଜଙ୍ଗଲ ତାକୁ ଧରି ଅଟକାଇଦେଲା। କଣ୍ଟକମାନେ ତାହାର ଅଙ୍ଗପ୍ରତ୍ୟଙ୍ଗକୁ ସବୁଦିଗରୁ ବିଦ୍ଧ କରି, ଦେହକୁ ରକ୍ତରଞ୍ଜିତ କରିଦେଲେ। ଏହି ପ୍ରସଙ୍ଗ ଦେଖାଏ—ନିର୍ଦ୍ଧାରିତ ଲକ୍ଷ୍ୟ ପ୍ରତି ଦୃଢ଼ ସଙ୍କଳ୍ପରେ ଚାଳିତ ମଣିଷ ଦୁର୍ବଳ ହେଲେ ମଧ୍ୟ ଆଗକୁ ଧାଉଁଥାଏ; କିନ୍ତୁ ପ୍ରକୃତି ଓ ପରିସ୍ଥିତି ଏମିତି ଅବିବେକୀ ତ୍ୱରାର ଯନ୍ତ୍ରଣାଦାୟକ ପରିଣାମ ତୁରନ୍ତ ଦେଇଦିଏ।
