The verse highlights the warrior’s vow to act with unstoppable force, likened to Kāla (Death/Time). Ethically, it reflects how, in war, combatants invoke cosmic imagery to justify decisive violence, showing the tension between duty-driven valor and the destructive inevitability of battle.
Sañjaya reports a fighter’s declaration: armed with a heavy, gold-bodied mace, he intends to strike with death-like power and smash the weapons of Droṇa’s son, Aśvatthāman, emphasizing imminent, overwhelming confrontation.
