Vyuṣṭi (Merit-Outcome) of Honoring Brāhmaṇas: Kṛṣṇa and Durvāsā
ṛṣaya ūcuḥ: bhavān visṛjate lokān bhavān saṃharate punaḥ | bhavān śītaṃ bhavān uṣṇaṃ bhavān eva ca varṣati ||
All cosmic functions—creation, dissolution, and the sustaining forces of nature—are attributed to one supreme Lord. Ethically, this supports humility, devotion, and trust in a higher order (dharma) rather than egoistic claims of independent control.
A group of sages speaks in praise, addressing the deity as the ultimate cause behind the worlds and the seasons. Their statement functions as a theological affirmation within Bhishma’s discourse, highlighting divine sovereignty over both cosmic cycles and everyday natural phenomena.
