The verse teaches that regular performance of śrāddha—especially offerings of food and water—constitutes a dharmic practice that pleases the gods, emphasizing disciplined, continual ritual responsibility toward ancestors and the sacred order.
Vāyudeva addresses Madhusūdana (Kṛṣṇa), prescribing a specific course of conduct: to perform śrāddha repeatedly (day by day) with offerings such as food and water, presenting it as a means of divine satisfaction and religious merit.
