The verse teaches the discipline of daily dharma: study and sacred recitation please the ṛṣis; tending the sacred fire and performing bali/vaishvadeva before eating sustains one’s duty toward the gods; and regular offerings (food, water, milk, fruits/roots) maintain gratitude and obligation toward the ancestors (Pitṛs).
Vāyudeva addresses Kṛṣṇa (Madhusūdana) and outlines practical household observances—agni-service, bali offerings, and ancestor-satisfying rites—framing them as daily acts that uphold cosmic and social order by honoring seers, gods, and forebears.
