स्नानविधिः — गायत्र्यावाहन, सूर्यवन्दन, तर्पण, पञ्चमहायज्ञ, भस्मस्नान, मन्त्रस्नान

सहस्रं वा तदर्धं वा शतमष्टोत्तरं तु वा गायत्रीं प्रणवेनैव त्रिविधेष्वेकमाचरेत्

Transliteration

sahasraṃ vā tadardhaṃ vā śatamaṣṭottaraṃ tu vā gāyatrīṃ praṇavenaiva trividheṣvekamācaret

Translation

ପ୍ରଣବ (ଓଁ) ସହିତ ଗାୟତ୍ରୀ ଜପ—ସହସ୍ରବାର, କିମ୍ବା ତାହାର ଅର୍ଧ, ଅଥବା ୧୦୮ ବାର—ଏହି ତିନି ପରିମାଣରୁ ଯେକୌଣସି ଗୋଟିଏ ଅନୁସରଣ କରୁ। ଏହି ନିୟମବଦ୍ଧ ଜପରେ ପଶୁ-ଜୀବ ଶୁଦ୍ଧ ହୋଇ ପତି (ଶିବ) ଅନୁଗ୍ରହର ଯୋଗ୍ୟ ହୁଏ।
