uṣṇamannaṃ dvijātibhyo dātavyaṃ śreya icchatā / anyatra phalamūlebhyaḥ pānakebhyastathaiva ca

ଶ୍ରେୟ (ଆଧ୍ୟାତ୍ମିକ ମଙ୍ଗଳ) ଇଚ୍ଛା କରୁଥିବା ବ୍ୟକ୍ତି ଦ୍ୱିଜାତିମାନଙ୍କୁ ଉଷ୍ଣ, ସଦ୍ୟ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ ଅନ୍ନ ଦେବା ଉଚିତ; କିନ୍ତୁ ଫଳ‑ମୂଳ ଓ ପାନକ (ପେୟ) ବିଷୟରେ ଅପବାଦ ଅଛି—ସେଗୁଡ଼ିକ ଅନ୍ୟଥା ମଧ୍ୟ ଦିଆଯାଇପାରେ।
