FAQs

This verse does not teach a specific ritual procedure; it establishes the Purāṇa’s transmission and authority—presenting it as “sarvātha-darśaka,” a comprehensive source covering many vidyās and aims.

By calling the text “sarvātha-darśaka,” it frames the Agni Purāṇa as a multi-disciplinary compendium (ritual, dharma, polity, arts, and other sciences), supporting its reputation as an encyclopedic Purāṇa.

The verse underscores scriptural legitimacy—hearing or studying a Brahman-consistent Purāṇa transmitted by Agni in the company of devas and sages is presented as spiritually elevating due to its trustworthy, truth-aligned teaching.
