FAQs

It gives muhurta/naimittika guidance: Ekādaśī and Saura-day are noted as broadly relevant for undertakings, and a rainbow seen directly facing the traveler at a sensitive reference-time (janma-lagna) is treated as a prohibitive omen for departure.

Beyond theology, the Agni Purana compiles practical sciences such as Jyotiṣa and omenology—here, calendrical markers (tithi/solar reckoning) and observational signs (rainbow directionality) are integrated into decision-making for everyday acts like travel.

Following muhurta and avoiding inauspicious omens is presented as aligning one’s actions with dharmic order, reducing obstacles (vighna) and adverse outcomes attributed to mistimed or ill-omened beginnings.
