Nāma-saṅkīrtana (chanting of the Divine Name)

FAQs

It teaches the practical sādhanā of nāma-saṅkīrtana—chanting the Divine Name—as a direct means to generate supreme inner joy and devotional satisfaction even with minimal external attainment.

Alongside its many technical subjects, the Agni Purāṇa also codifies applied spiritual disciplines; this verse succinctly records a bhakti-based method (name-chanting) and its psychological-spiritual fruit, showing the text’s breadth from ritual/knowledge systems to lived devotional practice.

It asserts that chanting the Name itself elevates the mind into gladness and contentment, transforming small results into great fulfillment—implying purification of desire and accumulation of devotional merit (puṇya) through nāma practice.
