Vidya Category: {"primary_vidya":"Vastu","secondary_vidya":"Tantra","practical_application":"Draw a protective yantra/mandala: place a lotus-centre, inscribe vajra symbols in the eight directions and intercardinals, and mark vīthikā (circumambulatory path) plus main/sub door-ornaments; then perform swift smaraṇa (invocation) for protection.","sutra_style":true}

Concept: Ritual geometry (mandala/yantra) and spatial marking (vastu) are treated as operative supports for invoking and stabilizing protective divine presence.

Application: For house/temple thresholds and ritual spaces, apply directional symbols and doorway markings as apotropaic measures, followed by focused smaraṇa to ‘seal’ the space.

FAQs

It teaches yantra-lekhana within Vāstu/Rakṣā-vidhi: placing vajra (thunderbolt) emblems in the lotus-centre and the eight directional sectors, and marking the vīthikā and door-ornaments as protective, consecratory diagramming.

Beyond mythology, it preserves applied technical instruction—diagram-drawing, directional placement, and architectural-ritual detailing—showing the Agni Purāṇa’s coverage of Vāstu, temple praxis, and protective rites alongside theology.

The drawing and directional placement function as a consecratory protection (rakṣā) and a focus for swift remembrance/invocation of the deity, aligning space with sacred order and supporting purity, auspiciousness, and warding of obstacles.
