Ayurvedic pharmacy: a ghṛta-based herbal combination (with Viḍaṅga) to be taken with fermented buttermilk as an anupāna, aimed at grahaṇī disorders, piles, anemia, gulma, and worms.
It preserves practical clinical therapeutics—specific herbs, a lipid extraction medium (ghee), and a prescribed vehicle (takra)—showing the Agni Purana’s coverage beyond theology into applied medicine.
By restoring digestion and removing parasitic/impure conditions, the teaching supports bodily purity (śarīra-śuddhi), which traditional dharma views as conducive to disciplined practice, clarity, and ritual fitness.
