FAQs

This verse primarily conveys dharmic succession practice (niyoga-like begetting of an heir with consent) within a genealogical narrative, rather than a ritual manual or medical procedure.

By preserving dynastic history and norms of royal succession, it adds Itihāsa–Purāṇa material alongside the Agni Purana’s many other domains (rituals, polity, medicine, arts), showing its broad archival scope.

It underscores the dharmic priority of lineage continuity and social order through sanctioned consent, framing kingship and progeny as responsibilities tied to righteousness and communal stability.
