FAQs

It teaches the technical framework for arranging consonants in hṛdayādi-aṅga nyāsa: letters are assigned in a defined order, each linked with its bīja and the appropriate limb-names for ritual placement on the body.

Beyond narrative theology, it preserves applied mantra-śāstra: phonetic ordering (vyañjana-krama), bīja theory, and embodied ritual practice (nyāsa), showing the Purana’s coverage of technical tantric-liturgy alongside other sciences.

Nyāsa sacralizes the practitioner’s body as a mantra-seat; correct placement of letters and bījas is held to purify the limbs, stabilize concentration, and make worship/mantra-japa more efficacious.
