Verse 3

Prashna

स यद्येकमात्रामभिध्यायीत स तेनैव संवेदितस्तूर्णमेव जगत्याभिसम्पद्यते । तमृचो मनुष्यलोकमुपनयन्ते स तत्र तपसा ब्रह्मचर्येण श्रद्धया सम्पन्नो महिमानमनुभवति ॥३॥

सः । यदि । एक-मात्राम् । अभिध्यायीत । सः । तेन । एव । संवेदितः । तूर्णम् । एव । जगति । आभि-सम्पद्यते । तम् । ऋचः । मनुष्य-लोकम् । उपनयन्ते । सः । तत्र । तपसा । ब्रह्मचर्येण । श्रद्धया । सम्पन्नः । महिमानम् । अनुभवति ॥३॥

sa yady ekamātrām abhidhyāyīta sa tenaiva saṃveditas tūṛṇam eva jagaty ābhisampadyate | tam ṛco manuṣyalokam upanayante sa tatra tapasā brahmacaryeṇa śraddhayā sampanno mahimānam anubhavati ||3||

အကယ်၍ တစ်မాత్రာ (အတိုင်းအတာတစ်ပိုင်း) သော ‘အောမ်’ ကို ဓ്യာနပြုလျှင် ထိုအရာတည်းဖြင့်ပင် အလင်းရရှိ၍၊ အလျင်အမြန်ပင် ဤလောကသို့ ပြန်လည်ရောက်ရှိသည်။ ရစ်ဂ်ဝေဒ မန္တရများက သူ့ကို လူ့လောကသို့ ဦးဆောင်ပို့ဆောင်ကြသည်။ ထိုနေရာ၌ တပဿ၊ ဗြဟ္မစရိယ၊ နှင့် သဒ္ဓါတို့ဖြင့် ပြည့်စုံလာသောသူသည် မဟိမာ (အထင်ကရမြင့်မြတ်မှုတစ်ရပ်) ကို ခံစားသိမြင်သည်။

If one meditates on the one-mātrā (one measure) [of Oṃ], he becomes, by that alone, illumined; and quickly indeed he attains (returns to) this world. The Ṛg-verses lead him to the world of human beings; there, endowed with austerity, celibate discipline, and faith, he experiences greatness (a certain eminence).
