ईश्वर उवाच । पुरा दैत्यगणा रौद्रा बभूवुर्वरवर्णिनि । कालकेया इति ख्यातास्त्रैलोक्योच्छेदकारकाः
īśvara uvāca | purā daityagaṇā raudrā babhūvurvaravarṇini | kālakeyā iti khyātāstrailokyocchedakārakāḥ
ဣရှ္ဝရ မိန့်တော်မူသည်— «ရှေးကာလတုန်းက၊ အလှရောင်သွေးသမီးရေ၊ ကြမ်းတမ်းသော ဒာနဝ (ဒေဝဆန့်ကျင်) အုပ်စုများ ပေါ်ထွန်းလာခဲ့သည်။ ၎င်းတို့ကို ‘ကာလကေယ’ ဟု ခေါ်ကြပြီး၊ သုံးလောကကို ဖျက်ဆီးလိုသော ဖျက်ဆီးသူများ ဖြစ်ကြသည်»။
