antyaja uvāca | aho āścaryamatulaṃ yadetaddṛśyate'dhunā | yadetanmadgṛhaṃ prāptā ṛṣayaścānnakāṃkṣiṇaḥ
Antyaja (a marginalized householder, speaking in the narrative)
Tirtha: Prabhāsa-kṣetra
Type: kshetra
Listener: Implied audience within the narrative (sages/others present)
Scene: A humble Antyaja’s hut; austere sages stand at the threshold, radiant yet simple; the host, astonished, folds hands in reverence, expressing wonder that desireless ṛṣis have come seeking nothing.
True sanctity is shown when the holy approach even the humble; reverence and dharma are not limited by social status.
Prabhāsakṣetra (Prabhāsa), presented in the Prabhāsa Khaṇḍa’s Prabhāsakṣetra Māhātmya.
No explicit rite is prescribed here; the verse frames the dharmic moment of receiving visiting sages.
