Mahīṣāsura
Tirtha: Prabhāsa
Type: kshetra
Listener: Nārada
Scene: Mahīṣāsura, imposing and regal, addresses Nārada with a mix of reverence and impatience, asking about a peerless woman whose mere sight inflamed even the sage; Nārada stands with vīṇā, eyes averted in restraint.
Even the wise can be disturbed by sense-perception; vigilance and restraint are implied as dharmic safeguards.
The narrative setting belongs to Arbuda (Mount Abu/Arbudācala) within the Arbuda Khaṇḍa.
No explicit ritual is prescribed in this verse; it introduces a query that leads into the account of tapas and vows.
