Pulastya
Tirtha: Piṇḍāraka
Type: kshetra
Listener: Nṛpa (king)
Scene: Pulastya instructs the king to proceed next to Piṇḍāraka, a sin-destroying ford where the brāhmaṇa Maṅki once performed austerities and attained siddhi through the tīrtha’s power.
Pilgrimage to a true tīrtha, supported by austerity and faith, becomes a means of purification and attainment of siddhi.
Piṇḍāraka Tīrtha, praised as pāpahara (sin-removing).
The prescription is pilgrimage (gacchet) to Piṇḍāraka; tapas is cited through Maṅki’s exemplar.
