Sūrya (Āditya)
Tirtha: Jayāditya
Type: kshetra
Listener: Brāhmaṇa-sages/devotees (addressed as ‘viprāḥ’)
Scene: Sūrya, radiant and crowned, speaks to assembled brāhmaṇa-sages, granting his name ‘Jayāditya’ and promising perpetual residence at the sanctified spot.
Sacred naming through devotion becomes a lasting spiritual reality—praise (stuti) can establish enduring divine presence.
Jayāditya-sthāna, explicitly affirmed as Sūrya’s perpetual dwelling place.
Invocation of the deity’s name (‘Jayāditya’) is presented as the cause for the deity’s abiding presence at the site.
