आत्मज्ञानं परं केचित्समलोष्टाश्मकांचनम् । इत्थं व्यवस्थिते लोके कृत्याकृत्यविधौ जनाः
ātmajñānaṃ paraṃ kecitsamaloṣṭāśmakāṃcanam | itthaṃ vyavasthite loke kṛtyākṛtyavidhau janāḥ
အချို့က အတ္တမဉာဏ် (အတ္မာကို သိမြင်ခြင်း) ကို အမြင့်ဆုံးဟု ထင်ကြသည်—မြေတုံး၊ ကျောက်တုံးနှင့် ရွှေကို တူညီစွာ မြင်သကဲ့သို့။ ထိုသို့ လောက၌ အခြေအနေတည်ရှိနေသဖြင့် လူတို့သည် လုပ်သင့်မလုပ်သင့် အမှုအရာ၌ ကွဲပြားကြသည်။
