The verse portrays the divine power that destroys adharma and the āsuric impulses within the soul; in Shaiva Siddhanta terms, grace helps break the pasha (bondage) that keeps the pashu (individual being) trapped in ignorance and violence.
Though the verse narrates a fierce Saguna manifestation (Nṛsiṃha) acting in the world, its purpose aligns with Linga-worship: the devotee seeks the Lord’s protective grace that removes obstacles and restores dharma, leading the mind back to the still center symbolized by the Linga.
Take it as a cue for inner combat: daily japa of the Panchākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and a resolve to restrain anger and pride—seeing the Lord as the force that shatters demonic tendencies.
