The verse models bhakti through reverent praise: Rama is honored as the protector of dharma and the remover of adharma (Ravana). In Shaiva Siddhanta terms, such devotion purifies the pashu (bound soul) and turns the mind toward righteous conduct aligned with the Lord’s grace.
Though addressed to Rama, the Shiva Purana frames devotion to exalted divine forms (saguṇa worship) as a valid means to steady the mind in dharma and surrender. This mirrors linga-upasana: focused reverence, praise, and remembrance that ripen the aspirant for Shiva’s anugraha (grace).
A simple practice is nāma-japa and stotra-style remembrance: repeat this salutation as a daily mantra of humility and dharma. If following Shaiva observance, accompany it with Om Namaḥ Śivāya japa and a brief linga-dhyāna, offering the merit to Shiva as the inner Lord of all righteous action.
