Suta Goswami (narrating Shiva-worship procedures to the sages of Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Significance: Abhiṣeka with purifying and nourishing substances while reciting Oṃ is presented as a direct upacāra that invites Śiva’s grace and removes ritual/inner impurity (mala) by disciplined worship.
Mantra: Oṃ (Praṇava)
Type: panchakshara
Role: nurturing
Offering: naivedya
It teaches that Śiva is approached through both mantra and offering: the Praṇava (Oṁ) sanctifies the act, while pure, sattvic substances express devotion—uniting inner remembrance with outer worship in a Shaiva Siddhanta spirit.
The Liṅga is the worshipful form (saguṇa-upāsanā) through which the devotee serves Pati (Śiva). Abhiṣeka with milk, curd, honey, and sugarcane juice is a concrete devotional service that supports concentration and reverence toward Śiva’s manifested presence.
Perform liṅga-abhiṣeka while chanting Oṁ (Praṇava), offering cow-derived sanctified substances—milk, curd, honey—and sugarcane juice, keeping the mind steady in devotion and purity during the rite.
