Sūta Gosvāmin (narrative colophon indicating chapter closure)
This is a colophon marking the close of a chapter; spiritually, it anchors the narrative within the Rudra Saṃhitā’s Satī Khaṇḍa and signals that the teaching-context concerns Kāma (desire) as a power that must be harmonized and ultimately transcended through devotion to Śiva (Pati) and inner discipline.
Though it does not directly mention liṅga-worship, the Satī Khaṇḍa’s framing keeps the focus on Śiva as Saguna Pati—personally approachable through bhakti and ritual—by situating the story-world where desire (Kāma) is understood in relation to Śiva’s lordship and the devotee’s purification.
No specific rite is prescribed in this line; the practical takeaway is to cultivate mastery over kāma through Śiva-centered japa (e.g., pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), along with sattvic restraint, supporting deeper meditation on Śiva as the liberating Lord.
