Sūta Gosvāmī (narrating the episode; the quoted speech is of Lord Śiva)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Role: liberating
Śiva’s placing of His hand on the head signifies anugraha (divine grace): the Lord personally sanctifies and affirms relationship with the soul, showing that belonging to Śiva is established by His compassion, not merely by worldly origin.
The verse highlights Saguna Śiva’s intimate, personal bestowal of grace—mirrored in Linga worship where devotees approach the visible, worship-worthy form of Śiva to receive protection, acceptance, and upliftment.
Meditate on Śiva’s anugraha while chanting the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” visualizing the Lord’s hand blessing the crown of the head; this supports surrender (śaraṇāgati) and steadiness in bhakti.
