This verse preserves vaṃśa-smṛti (dynastic memory), a Purāṇic method of grounding dharma and sacred history through legitimate lineage and succession.
Direct bhakti instruction is not stated here; the verse functions as narrative scaffolding, identifying the king within the Ikṣvāku line—often a setting in which later teachings on vows, dharma, and devotion are delivered.
It reflects Purāṇic anukramaṇī-style organization (systematic listing) and supports traditional chronology and lineage-recitation used in dharma discourse, though no specific Vedāṅga technique (like Vyākaraṇa or Jyotiṣa) is explicitly taught in this verse.
