Adhyaya 82 — The Rise of Mahishasura and the Manifestation of the Goddess from the Gods’ Tejas
तस्यास्तु दन्ताः सम्भूताः प्राजापत्येन तेजसा ।
नयनत्रितयं जज्ञे तथा पावकतेजसा ॥
tasyās tu dantāḥ sambhūtāḥ prājāpatyena tejasā |
nayana-tritayaṃ jajñe tathā pāvaka-tejasā ||
သူမ၏သွားများသည် ပရဇာပတိ (Prajāpati) ၏တောက်ပမှုမှ ပေါ်ထွန်းလာပြီး၊ မီး (အဂ္ဂိ) ၏တောက်ပမှုမှလည်း ထိုနည်းတူ သူမ၏ မျက်စိသုံးလုံး ပေါ်ပေါက်လာသည်။
The Devi’s form is not merely physical; it is a convergence of cosmic powers—creation (Prajāpati) and transformative insight (Agni)—suggesting that righteous power must include both generative order and purifying discernment.
As with surrounding verses, it functions as an itihāsa-like theological narrative embedded in the Purāṇa, not a standalone manvantara or vaṃśa catalogue.
Three eyes traditionally indicate knowledge across the three times (past, present, future) and the burning of ignorance; arising from Agni emphasizes illumination and the consuming of impurity.
