Human nature is characterized as rājasic—driven by activity, desire, and striving—implying that ethical cultivation involves refining rajas toward sattva and restraining tamas.
Sarga: guṇa-based origin of the human class, completing the fourfold scheme alongside asuras, devas, and pitṛs.
Rajas as the human root indicates a mediating role: humans can descend into tamas or ascend into sattva through discipline, knowledge, and dharma.
