Suta Goswami (narrating the Linga Purana discourse to the sages at Naimisharanya)
It states the fruit of true Shiva/Linga devotion: the pashu (individual soul) reaches Mahadeva as Pati and becomes apunarbhava—no longer bound to rebirth.
Shiva is presented as Mahadeva-Rudra, the supreme Pati and final refuge; entering Him signifies liberation from pasha (bondage) and the cycle of samsara.
The verse implies Pashupata-oriented Rudra-bhakti leading to liberation—steady worship/meditation on Mahadeva (often centered on the Linga) culminating in freedom from rebirth.
