FAQs

Indirectly: by depicting a state where lobha (greed) and krodha (anger) are absent, it points to sattva and inner purity—conditions that support recognition of the Atman as peaceful and untroubled by passions.

No specific technique is named, but the verse emphasizes mastery over krodha and lobha—core yama-like restraints that underpin Kurma Purana’s broader yoga-dharma orientation (including later Pāśupata-inflected discipline).

This verse is ethical-cosmological rather than sectarian; its stress on passionlessness and freedom from affliction aligns with the Purana’s shared Shaiva–Vaishnava ideal of dharmic, yogic purification leading toward the one supreme reality.
