Ayurvedic netra-cikitsā: it prescribes an external lepa (paste) of girimṛt (mineral clay) and candana (sandalwood) for the area around the eye, and regular use of Triphalā as a preventive measure against eye diseases.

Alongside theology and ritual, the Agni Purana preserves practical medical guidance—here, preventive ophthalmic care—showing its wide scope as a compendium of applied sciences (Ayurveda) within a Purāṇic framework.

By promoting sāttvika, non-harmful self-care and bodily preservation (especially of the senses), the instruction aligns with dharma as disciplined maintenance of the body—supporting clarity for study, worship, and righteous conduct.
