It prescribes a protective tilahoma: offering black sesame (kṛṣṇa-tila) as oblations into fire to propitiate Agni, specifically as a countermeasure to abhichāra (malevolent sorcery).
Beyond mythology, it records applied ritual technology—practical homa-procedures for warding off harm—showing the text’s coverage of protective rites, expiations, and ritual therapeutics alongside other sciences.
The act of offering sesame into Agni is presented as a purifier and remover of hostile karmic/ritual afflictions, restoring auspiciousness and protection by aligning the practitioner with Agni’s safeguarding power.
