FAQs

It prescribes a governance-and-ritual protocol: protect dharmasthānas (institutions upholding law and religious order), observe a regulated vrata, and formally appoint a qualified dvija as purohita for a year to guide rites and state decisions.

It blends statecraft (institutional protection and legal order) with ritual administration (vrata discipline and the office of the purohita), showing the Agni Purana’s wide scope across dharma, polity, and religious practice.

Protecting dharma-institutions and maintaining a vow under a learned purohita is presented as sustaining dharmic order, generating religious merit (puṇya) and reducing governance-related karmic faults through regulated, counsel-led action.
