FAQs

It teaches a graded devotional method (pūjā-krama/phala): worship of one deity is presented as leading to realization/attainment of progressively higher divine principles—Rudra → Viṣṇu → Sūrya → Śakti—framing pūjā as a practical ladder of spiritual ascent.

It exemplifies the Agni Purana’s catalog-like treatment of ritual outcomes (pūjā-phala) and comparative theology, summarizing a hierarchy of deities and results in a compact, instructional form typical of its wide-ranging ritual and doctrinal sections.

The verse asserts that sincere worship generates bhakti and elevates the worshipper’s consciousness toward subtler, more comprehensive divine realities, implying accumulating merit (puṇya) and purification through progressively higher forms of upāsanā.
