Related Themes: Agni Purana 157 (Śrāddha–Piṇḍa-dāna context); Agni Purana 157.18 (post-feeding procedures)
It prescribes a Śrāddha procedure: offering a single piṇḍa and audibly stating the ancestor’s name and gotra with focused attention.
It records practical, step-by-step dharma-ritual protocol (śrāddha karma), showing the text’s coverage beyond mythology into applied religious law and domestic rites.
Correct identification (name–gotra) and mindful offering are treated as essential for the rite to reach the intended pitṛ (ancestor), supporting ancestral satisfaction and the performer’s ritual purity/merit.
