FAQs

Ayurvedic therapeutics: it prescribes a specific herbal decoction (kaṣāya) taken with honey to relieve mūtrakṛcchra (dysuria/strangury).

It demonstrates the Purana’s inclusion of practical medical formulations—named drugs, dosage form (decoction), and anupāna (honey as vehicle)—alongside its religious and philosophical materials.

By promoting healing and removal of bodily obstruction (a form of śuddhi/purification), the instruction supports dharma through preservation of health, enabling continued performance of duties and rites.
