Related Themes: Agni Purana Ramayana-saṅkṣepa section (same khanda, surrounding verses)
It conveys the purificatory principle of Agni as a verifier of purity (śuddhi) through the motif of Agni-parīkṣā, presenting fire as a ritual and moral witness rather than detailing a step-by-step rite.
By embedding the Ramayana episode within the Purana, it preserves Itihasa-derived dharma exemplars (social-ethical legitimacy, public vindication, divine attestation) alongside the text’s broader instructional materials.
It highlights that truth and purity are ultimately affirmed by dharma and divine witness—Agni and the devas—implying the karmic ideal of integrity (śuddhi) validated beyond mere human suspicion.
