FAQs

It specifies the homa-prayoga: eight āhutis are to be offered in sequence (from the opening ‘nāma’-portion to the closing), and a pūrṇāhuti is to be performed for each ritual act using the śruc ladle together with the sruva spoon.

It functions as a concise ritual manual (pūjā-vidhi/prayoga), giving implement-level and count-specific instructions (number of oblations, pūrṇāhuti, tools like śruc/sruva), exemplifying how the Agni Purana preserves practical liturgical procedure alongside broader theology.

Correctly counted āhutis and the concluding pūrṇāhuti are treated as completion-markers of the rite, ensuring ritual wholeness (saṃpatti) and the intended purificatory and merit-yielding (puṇya) result of the samskāra.
