स महीṃ सकलां देवी सपल्लववनद्रुमाम् ॥ दातुमिच्छन्स चोवाच वसिष्ठं तपसां निधिम् ॥
sa mahīṃ sakalāṃ devī sapallava-vanadrumām || dātum icchan sa covāca vasiṣṭhaṃ tapasāṃ nidhim ||
Wahai Dewi, dengan hasrat untuk menganugerahkan seluruh bumi—lengkap dengan tunas, rimba dan pepohonannya—baginda pun menyapa Vasiṣṭha, khazanah pertapaan (tapas).
