एवं श्रुत्वा द्वावपि तस्य तुष्टौ इन्द्राविष्णू दर्शयन्तौ स्वमूर्तिम् ॥ वाक्यं चेदमूचतुर्ब्रूहि नौ ते तुष्टौ धन्यं वरमेकं वदस्व ॥ तच्छ्रुत्वाऽसौ सत्यतपा उवाच ॥
evaṁ śrutvā dvāv api tasya tuṣṭau indrāviṣṇū darśayantau svamūrtim || vākyaṁ cedam ūcatur brūhi nau te tuṣṭau dhanyaṁ varam ekaṁ vadasva || tac chrutvā 'sau satyatapā uvāca ||
Mendengar demikian, Indra dan Viṣṇu—kedua-duanya—berkenan kepadanya lalu menzahirkan rupa suci masing-masing. Mereka bersabda: “Katakanlah; kami berdua reda kepadamu, wahai yang berbahagia. Nyatakan satu anugerah sahaja.” Setelah mendengarnya, Satyatapā pun menjawab.
