अथ कालेन महता सा कन्या अर्जुनकी शुभा । उक्ता श्वश्रुवा सुता पुत्रि जीवहन्तुस्त्वमीदृशी । न जानासि तपश्चर्तुं भर्त्तुराराधनं तथा ॥ ८.१३ ॥

Kemudian setelah masa yang panjang, gadis yang mulia, Arjunakī, ditegur oleh ibu mertuanya: “Wahai anakku, engkau begini—seakan-akan pembunuh makhluk hidup. Engkau tidak tahu ber-tapa, dan juga tidak tahu memuliakan serta melayani suamimu.”
