FAQs

It exemplifies Purāṇic descriptive geography, where landscapes are portrayed with idealized attributes (divine herbs, gold-like radiance) to convey cultural memory, sacralized space, and the literary aesthetics of cosmographic narration.

The verse refers generically to 'that mountain' without naming it in this excerpt; identification depends on surrounding verses in Adhyāya 75 that typically specify the mountain’s name and its placement within the Purāṇic map.

While not a direct injunction, the emphasis on divyauṣadhi (medicinal flora) supports a philosophical theme of valuing life-sustaining natural resources and viewing the environment as a protected cultural heritage within the narrative world.
