The Manifestation of Māyā as Durgā/Kātyāyanī and the Slaying of Vaitrāsura
Varāha (default speaker framework; the verse narrates actions rather than direct speech)
It preserves a standard Purāṇic cosmogonic motif: emergence from primordial waters and the restoration of Earth (Pr̥thivī) after a crisis, reflecting early medieval Sanskrit narrative theology and cosmology.
No specific geographic site is named in this verse; it is set in a cosmological scene involving the waters (antar-jala) rather than a mapped terrestrial location.
Implicitly, it emphasizes completion of duty (kṛtakṛtyā)—the ideal of fulfilling a necessary task for cosmic stability—rather than prescribing a direct moral rule.
