प्रजापाल उवाच । कथं गणपतेर्जन्म मूर्तिमन्तं च सत्तम । एतन्मे संशयं छिन्धि धृतिकष्टं व्यवस्थितम् ॥ २३.१ ॥

prajāpāla uvāca | kathaṃ gaṇapater janma mūrtimantaṃ ca sattama | etan me saṃśayaṃ chindhi dhṛtikāṣṭaṃ vyavasthitam || 23.1 ||

Prajāpāla berkata: “Wahai yang terbaik antara segala makhluk, bagaimana Gaṇapati dilahirkan, dan bagaimana pula Baginda menjadi berjasad? Putuskanlah keraguanku ini, yang telah lama terpaku sebagai kesukaran yang berterusan.”
