FAQs

It links narrative biography to a major North Indian heritage site (Mathurā) and to cosmological destinations, illustrating how Purāṇas map ethics onto geography and afterlife imaginaries.

Mathurā—commonly identified with modern Mathura in Uttar Pradesh, India, a long-attested cultural and pilgrimage center in Sanskrit literature.

Actions and speech have consequences, yet narratives also allow for mitigation; the verse frames a moral arc alongside sacred-geographic association.
