एवमेतन्महाभाग यन्मां त्वं परिपृच्छसि ॥ उपोष्य तु त्रिरात्रं त्वं पश्चाच्छ्रोष्यसि मानद ॥

evam etan mahābhāga yan māṃ tvaṃ paripṛcchasi | upoṣya tu trirātraṃ tvaṃ paścāc chroṣyasi mānada ||

Demikianlah halnya, wahai yang mulia, tentang apa yang engkau tanyakan kepadaku. Namun, wahai pemberi kehormatan, berpuasalah selama tiga malam; sesudah itu engkau akan mendengarnya.
