FAQs

It links Purāṇic narrative to older Vedic lineages (Āṅgirasa) and presents Varuṇa as a regulator of waters, preserving a cosmological ‘division of guardianship’ (protector-deity over domain).

The sāgara (ocean) is identified as a domain under Varuṇa’s protection; this is a cosmological-geographic category rather than a specific modern site.

It implies a principle of ordered stewardship: domains (like the ocean) are to be protected under an idea of guardianship, supporting a broader cultural ethic of care for natural realms.
