अथ धान्यधेनुदानमाहात्म्यम् ॥ होतोवाच ॥ शृणु राजन्प्रवक्ष्यामि धान्यधेनुमनुत्तमाम् ॥ यस्याः सङ्कीर्तनादेव सा तुष्येत् पार्वती स्वयम्

atha dhānyadhenudānamāhātmyam || hotovāca || śṛṇu rājan pravakṣyāmi dhānyadhenuṃ anuttamām || yasyāḥ saṅkīrtanād eva sā tuṣyet pārvatī svayam

Kini (menyusul) mahātmya, yakni keagungan, tentang pemberian dhānyadhenu—“lembu bijirin”. Hotṛ berkata: Dengarlah, wahai Raja; aku akan menghuraikan dhānyadhenu yang tiada bandingan—yang dengan sekadar saṅkīrtana (bacaan pujian) sahaja, Pārvatī sendiri menjadi berkenan.
